First Time In Two Years: Clinton Agrees To Join Sanders At Fox News Forum On Eve of Michigan Primary

hilDemocratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton has agreed to join rival Bernie Sanders on Monday for a forum hosted by the Fox News Channel on the eve of the Michigan primary, the network said Friday.

Fox News announced Thursday that the Vermont senator would appear alone at the hour-long town hall in Detroit after Clinton declined to appear, citing a scheduling conflict.

Clinton press secretary Brian Fallon confirmed late Friday that Clinton now plans to participate.

Fox News said it would be the first time in two years that Clinton has appeared on the network, which has a reputation for a conservative bent. The former secretary of state was last interviewed in 2014 while on a book tour.

Michigan, which has been hard hit by manufacturing jobs losses, is a key test of the appeal for the Democratic candidates in the industrial Midwest.

Bret Baier, the chief political anchor at Fox News, will host Monday night’s forum at 6 p.m. EST. It is set to re-air at 11 p.m.

Clinton and Sanders are also scheduled to face off in a formal debate Sunday night broadcast on CNN from Flint, Michigan.
