Ministerial Committee Likely to Vote Against Legislation to Prohibit Mosque Muezzins

hhaThe Ministerial Law Committee on Sunday may vote to outlaw using the muezzins of mosques to call worshipers to prayer services.

The legislation is authored by MK (Bayit Yehudi) Moti Yogev and it is being backed by MKs Miki Zohar and Nurit Koren of Likud and Merav Ben Ari and Kulanu.

They feel that hundreds of thousands of Israelis are forced to hear the noise from the muezzin daily; residents of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Yaffo. They explain that the “noise” from the mosques is heard regularly during early morning and late night hours in addition to several times daily.

However, the legislation is likely to be defeated by the committee, with members fearing prohibiting the public address system would be a gross violation of freedom of religion.

  1. And how about freedom of my religion? I don’t have to hear them blaring away at 4:00 in the morning when I’m trying to go back to sleep and I can’t because I have to hear them “droning” away and it keeps me up till they finish. If everybody is so concerned about everybody else’s freedom of religion, let me give you a tip: Freedom of religion stops when you affect someone else’s freedom of religion. Don’t practice your freedom of religion at my expense. I abhor listening to their annoying prayers five times a day. When I pray, I don’t disturb anyone else. It’s called basic human consideration and decency Unfortunately, the Arabs and the Israeli left do not know what that means. ( not that the Israeli left has a religion-but anything that will life unpleasant for a religious Jew, the left will be the first to champion it!)

  2. A correction on the last sentence I wrote: not that the Israeli left has a religion-but anything that will MAKE life unpleasant for a religious Jew, the left will be the first to champion it!

  3. So after all those Zionist “victories” the Muslims do as they wish in the so called “jewish state”. IN Israel all the laws are made by the Hellenist supreme court anyway. Another reason why not to join the IDF, the defender of mosques.

  4. Could someone tell those idiots to stop being politically correct. It’s called a Jewish homeland not a Christian or Islamic make the law. If they don’t like it let them go to a place were they allow it.
