Despite ongoing calls from some cabinet ministers to refrain from returning the bodies of terrorists for burial, Israel on Thursday morning 23 Adar-I announced it has already returned the bodies of the terrorists who perpetrated the attack in Yishuv Eli a day earlier. The bodies were returned in less than 24 hours following the attack.

The two, 17-year-old terrorists from the PA (Palestinian Authority) village of Kariyut were killed by security forces during the attack. The bodies were returned to the families to permit burying them.

Officials opposed to the return of bodies feel that not permitting the families to bury them would serve as a deterrent to prevent future attacks.
