Another blow to kedushas Shabbos in Yerushalayim as the Jerusalem District Planning Board approved the plan for the Mitcham HaTachana facility, namely permitting it to operate on Shabbos. Eleven members of the committee backed the plan permitting the facility to operate on Shabbos against two opposed, Jerusalem Councilmen Yossi Deutsch and Chaim Epstein.

This was the next step in the process after the plan was approved last week on the local planning level. The failure of a Shas councilman to present himself for the vote permitted passing the plan that permits the growingly popular facility to continue opening on Shabbos.
