Egged driver David Biton has been at the wheel of a number 1 bus to and from the Kosel for almost a decade. At the beginning of this week he surprised women passengers when he gave out a letter.
Biton, a 45-year Egged veteran, is well-known to many traveling the Kosel line, some becoming acquainted as they share stories of one-another’s families.
MyNet reports that on Monday, 20 Adar-I, Biton distributed letters along with giving passengers change of their boarding receipt. He uses the letter to explain this is his last week on the line as he is retiring. “I feel the great need to share this with you, and to thank you for all these years, for the privilege of driving you”, he tells the holy women who travel regularly to and from the Kosel.
He uses the letter to thank a number of women specifically, including Giveret Rochel for the besamim that she gives him regularly; Giveret Blau for showering him with so many framed brachos that are hanging in his home; and to all the women in general for the mishlochei manos.
When asked about Biton, the women explain “He is a marvelous individual who always inquires as to our well-being”, wishing much hatzlacha in his next stage of life.

Nice! I know many of his passengers are regulars, I hope they make him a little presentation. 45 years in one job is an accomplishment. Enjoy your retirement!
