If you are visiting Israel, undoubtedly the unseasonably warm sunny skies are a welcome reality but sadly, it signals we do not merit the badly needed rainfall. Farmers explain that many trees are ‘confused’ and the prolonged hot weather has them believing spring has arrived and they are beginning to awaken prematurely and when the cold returns, these trees will ‘miss their season’ and the produce will be lost.

In some cases, crops are simply ruined as a result of the sharp contrast in the prolonged unseasonable weather around the country.

Temperatures on Tuesday, 21 Adar-I in Tel Aviv were forecast to reach 30C (86F), 27 (80.6) in Haifa and 34 (93) in Eilat. Strong easterly winds will be felt in the center of the country and during the night (Tuesday to Wednesday), skies will remain clear.

Temperatures will increase on Wednesday amid partly cloudy skies and it will be noticeably hot and dry but on Thursday, 23 Adar-I, temperatures will begin dropping into the high 50F and there is a 70% chance of precipitation.
