The Chairman of the Knesset Finance Committee MK Moshe Gafne visited northern Israel and met with local leaders in both Katzrin in the Golan Heights and Tiveria. The mayors thanked Gafne warmly for his tenacious efforts to have their cities added to the list of areas receiving tax benefits, with both presenting Gafne with an award in the name of northern residents.

This refers to a number of months, during state budget talks, when Gafne fought to include the northern areas into the list of periphery communities.
