Ministry of Religious Services legal counsel Oded Flus invited members of the Knesset Finance Committee to accompany him for a tour to Har HaZeisim. Taking part in the visit were MKs Betzalel Smotrich (Bayit Yehudi) and Miki Zohar (Likud), who wished to get a better understanding of the security issues surrounding the cemetery and the approach roads to the area.

Speaking to them were Rabbi Hillel Horowitz who heads the Jerusalem Cemeteries Council, providing details regarding the threats, what has been done in the past and what is needed in the future.

Flus explained the need to find a solution to the ongoing security concerns towards permitting people to visit the cemetery without fears and without being attacked. He cited there must be additional security on the roads into the area as well as attacks against Jewish drivers are commonplace.
