The High Court of Justice on Sunday, 5 Adar I, rejected a request for an additional hearing filed by attorneys on behalf of two of the convicted Holyland case defendants; Meir Rabin and Danny Dankner. They also requested to delay beginning to serve their sentences, which was also denied.
As a result of the court’s decision, Meir Rabin and Dankner are heading to prison; Dankner for three years and Rabin for five years following the convictions. Rabin was known as the “Machar” in the Holyland dealings.
The two will have to report to prison on Monday, 6 Adar I along with the other defendants sentenced to prison, one being former PM Ehud Olmert.
