R”L there have been many sudden deaths of infants in the chareidi community of Eretz Yisrael during recent weeks, so much so the experts have stepped forward and called on parents to learn CPR, backed by poskim who insist parents must be trained in basic life-saving techniques. YWN has reported around a dozen of those deaths R”L.
According to a Kikar Shabbos News report, people who run daycare centers in their homes asked HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita “Why is this happening and what can we do to be mechazeik to prevent these tragedies R”L?”
Rav Chaim responded: “We do not know what HKBH does in such a case and our only strength is our mouth, to daven to him that we hear of no more grief in our community”.
Rav Chaim is quoted adding, “It says in Gemara Shabbos 32:A that the tefilos of a person are more easily accepted prior to his becoming ill for after he is ill, he requires more zechusim for his tefilos to be accepted”.

Notice the difference between how a true gadol speaks and how some other people speak. Many “rabbis” get much attention for saying that the holocaust happened for this reason or that reason, that it happened to punish these people or those people, etc. R’ Chaim shlit”a says simply “Honestly, I have no idea why it happened, but I do know that davening to HKB”H is good.”
