Michael Bloomberg, the billionaire media owner and former New York mayor, has stated for the first time that he is considering a run for US president, a move that would dramatically reshape the 2016 race for the White House.
Speaking to the Financial Times, the founder of the eponymous financial information group criticised the quality of the debate in the presidential race. He said that he was “looking at all the options” when asked whether he was considering putting his name forward.
“I find the level of discourse and discussion distressingly banal and an outrage and an insult to the voters,” Mr Bloomberg said in an interview, before adding that the US public deserved “a lot better”.

I cannot wait for Bloomberg to run, so we can all watch his concession speech.
I hope he runs. He will siphon votes off the Democrat Party candidate and help the Republican.
BTW, the link to the FT will not work unless you are a paid subscriber.
We could end up with these three choices:
Bernie Sanders, a supporter of Big Government.
Mike Bloomberg, a supporter of Huge Nanny State Government.
Donald Trump, a supporter of HUMONGOUS GOVERNMENT with no limits on what it can do to you.
I’ll be for Sanders.
If he actually wins, get ready for a nationwide ban on soda and metzitzah b’peh
Charlie,
If you think Bernie, an avowed socialist (he even said so himself) only wants a big government (as opposed to nanny state or humongous you must be on something medically)
Just what we need. A “health” fanatic who enacted draconian laws in New York about salt, soft drinks, etc. He will outdo every bit of fanaticism that Michelle Obama has already inflicted on this country, and if you think Obama’s executive orders have been bad, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet!
