An 11-year-old boy was stabbed in a number of places on his body at his home on Levi Street in Ramle on Monday afternoon, 29 Shevat. A spokesman for MDA reports that the child was transported to Assaf HaRofeh Hospital, listed in light-to-moderate condition with multiple stab wounds.
There are conflicting reports but according to the victim, an Arab male approached him at home and asked him if he had a cigarette lighter and then began stabbing him and fled. The attacker remains at large.
Police at the time of this report have not made a determination of the stabbing was an act of terror or possibly motivated by other factors.
UPDATE: Police have arrested a 17-year-old suspect. His nationality has not been made public. The motive is unclear.
