A poll conducted by Miskar, headed by Dr. Ido Lieberman to mark a year until primary elections in Bayit Yehudi shows the party leader, Naftali Bennett, is losing popularity. The poll was published in the Matzav Cheirum (State of Emergency) newspaper, showing that 77% of Bayit Yehudi voters in the last Knesset elections would vote for the party again if elections were held today. 15% of the voters say they will leave in search for a more right-wing party, 3% would shift to Likud and 5% say they will vote for another party.
That said, of those who did not vote for Bayit Yehudi in the last elections, 17% said they would vote Bayit Yehudi today while 31% said they would vote for a more right-wing party, 23% for Likud and 28% for another party.
How do Bayit Yehudi voters rate party officials today? Ayelet Shaked leads with the highest percentage of support among party voters.
64.8% Ayelet Shaked
51.6% Naftali Bennett
34.6% Eli Ben-Dahan
33.0% Betzalel Smotrich
31.0% Shul Muallem
27.6% Uri Ariel
19.6% Nissim Slomiansky
13.0% Moti Yogev
Interestingly, over 60% of respondents view themselves as “torani” yet the leader is Shaked, who is not Shomer Shabbos.
Among party voters who view themselves as “classic dati leumi”, Shaked scores 72% of the vote.
The respondents asked to rate their four favorites among the 15 people who ran for a slot in the party lineup in the last primaries – to represent them in Knesset today. In first place was Shaked with 51.4% followed by Bennett with 48%, trailed by Ben-Dahan with 30%, Muallem 29.8%, Uri Ariel 23%, and Smotrich with 22.4%.
