IDF soldiers during the night of 25 Shevat (Wednesday to Thursday) were ordered into Kabatya following the Shar Shechem terror attack. Officials report that all three of the terrorists who were eliminated in the attack came from the N. Shomron PA village.

Soldiers were met with rocks and firebombs when they entered Kabatya, and they responded with riot-control adjuncts including teargas. A number of arrests were made and a closure was placed on the village.

The intelligence community is probing the attack, seeking to understand how the three made their way from the northern Shomron to the Old City and if they were armed in the Shomron or met with persons who assisted them in Jerusalem, who may have supplied them with their weapons after crossing the Green Line.

A closure has also been placed on Jenin until further notice.
