Soldiers in the Golan Heights Without Water to Shower for Two Weeks


idfIn many cities around Israel, including the capital, temperatures over recent days have been unseasonably warm. This warming trend is forecasted to continue through erev Shabbos, with temperatures on Thursday 25 Shevat expected to climb into the 70sF.

However, for soldiers serving in the Golan Heights the situation is far from warm and cozy. Some of the bases in the Golan are reporting problems with their hot water systems. As a result, soldiers have been unable to shower for two weeks. In ability to the obvious health and comfort issues, this significantly impacts a soldier’s ability to perform as he should.

0404 News reports that in actuality, it has been closer to 2.5 weeks, and complaints have been heard from soldiers of the 75th Battalion and the 7th Brigade but no one appears to be responding.

Parents of the soldiers have become involved, explaining the odor in the barracks is reaching intolerable as they have not had a single shower for over two weeks. Parents explain temperatures in their bases are below freezing, and they cannot shower in freezing water.

  1. They should go home or better yet the beis medrash and leave. Remember Hezbollah is busy killing ISIS and reverse, the Golan is safer now that it has been in 30 years.
