Police in the Shvelah district stopped a bus with yellow Israeli license plates for inspection on Route 431. The police unit instructed the driver to pull over to the side of the road and when he did, he immediately opened the doors to permit his passengers to flee.
However, the police response was too quick and 55 PA (Palestinian Authority) residents inside Green Line Israel illegally were apprehended. Police learned the driver received NIS 250 from each passenger for driving them into Green Line Israel.
The driver and two of the passengers were jailed and were arraigned on Sunday in the Rishon L’Tzion Magistrate Court. The others were driven back over the Green Line.
