The terrorist arrived at the checkpoint located near the community of Beit El in the Binyamin Regional Council district of the Shomron close to 11:00AM on Sunday 21 Shevat. He exited his vehicle and began firing at all present in the area. The gunfire struck three people. Soldiers in the area returned fire, wounding the attacker seriously. He died of his wounds a short time later.
One of the victims were transported to the trauma unit of Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital with a gunshot wound to his neck, listed in serious condition. A second victim described with light injuries was also taken to Hadassah. The third victim, wounded in the thigh area, was transported to the trauma unit of Shaare Zedek Medical Center.
The first report from the Shaare Zedek Hospital trauma unit lists the victim in moderate/stable condition, adding the victim is conscious and alert.
Hadassah Hospital reports that a 31-year-old victim is in moderate-to-serious condition with wounds to the abdomen and extremities. He is not totally alert as a result of his injuries.
The second victim, 20, was hit in a hand with gunfire and reported in light condition.
