Three City of Newburgh women, who were hired for home cleaning services, were arrested and charged with stealing jewelry from a Kiryas Joel residence, according to New York State Police in Monroe.
On Jan. 27, 2016, State Police Members responded to a home on Eahal Court in the Village of Kiryas Joel for a reported burglary to the residence where numerous pieces of jewelry had been stolen.
During the course of the investigation, police said three women who work as a home cleaning service in the Village of Kiryas Joel were developed as suspects.
Investigators located the suspects and upon interviews, police said they admitted their role in the burglary.
Arrested were Gladis Aguilar, age 32, Tania Borjas-Garcia, age 34, and Yorleni Varela, age 30, all of the City of Newburgh were arrested and charged with Burglary in the Second Degree (class C felony).
They were arraigned in the Town of Monroe Court and remanded to Orange County Jail.
Police said it is believed these women have been involved in several burglaries, some unreported, within the Village.
