NYPD: Man Brandishing Knife Shot By Police In East Village


knA 25-year-old man was shot by NYPD officers responding to calls of an emotionally disturbed man with a knife inside an East Village apartment building.

The man, whose name is not known, was shot once by officers in a hallway of the Jacob Riis II house just after 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The NYPD has revealed to Breaking911.com that on Tuesday, January 26, at 12:08AM, police responded to a call of an emotionally disturbed person at 911 FDR Drive.

Upon arrival, the officers discovered that the male had left the location and has fled to 765 FDR Drive.

A sergeant and a police officer arrived at the location where they believe the subject may have fled to.

Once on the 6th floor the officers hear a loud commotion on the 7th floor and proceed to investigate.

Officers went to Apt 7E where they encounter the subject, a 25 year-old male armed with a knife.

After repeated calls for the subject to drop the knife, the subject advanced towards the officer in a threatening manner.

The sergeant subsequently discharged his firearm one time striking the male in the chest.

EMS responded and transported the subject to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

  1. Let’s see if the Arab media complain about the police officer shooting this innocent man who “allegedly” approached officers with a knife.

  2. Where’s the UN when we need them. This is barbaric, and inhuman. Shooting someone that’s only holding a knife? What harm does a knife do? Ask ban ki moon, the only ones doing such atrocities are the Israelis that shoot innocent peace loving people that enjoy walking around with knifes, and occasionally by mistake bump into people with the knife, and those subhuman Israelis just go and shoot. No other police dept should follow these Israelis. If u see someone with a knife just offer him and apple and run away, no shooing innocent knife carriers. Enough of this police brutality
