A cow got loose in Queens, sending police officers on a wild chase.

The animal escaped from a slaughterhouse in Jamaica early Thursday afternoon.

Dashcam video posted to Twitter showed the cow running through the intersection at 164th Street and Jamaica Avenue.

The animal was tracked down at a parking garage on Archer Avenue and 135th Street.

After officers cornered it in the parking garage, the animal was corralled and led into a trailer.

It was then returned to Archer Halal Live Poultry across the street from the car lot.

According to published reports, the animal got loose one day before its scheduled slaughter, police on the scene said.

Police reported no injuries.

  1. The rope has nothing to do with the method of slaughter. It is being used to recapture the cow.
FYI Halal slaughter is almost identical to Shechita. If fact, many Muslims who cannot obtain Halal meat with purchase Kosher meat instead.

  2. Hey Moose613, that’s obvious that the rope was used to recapture the poor runaway heifer. The point was it seems quite inhumane – just look at the picture! And his running away, he don’t want to satiate no moose-leem appetite! You get that, no??
