The latest string of false rumors surrounding the winners of the powerball jackpot has just claimed its newest victim.
A rumor was circulating tha an employee of Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz was one of the three powerball jackpot winners.
YWN did not post this story as it had not been verified and the story seemed dubious with many inconsistencies in the overall facts.
Earlier in the week, Rechnitz purchased 25,000 powerball tickets for his employees and many people thought the wining tickets was part of the group of tickets that Rechnitz bought.
In a sick turn of events, the story unraveled and it was found out that the woman’s sons played a evil prank and convinced his mother that she was the winner, sending shockwaves throughout the media.
However it has been confirmed that the winning ticket. None of the winners have claimed their tickets, lottery officials said.
But they shouldn’t wait too long: California gives its top winners up to a year to contact lottery officials before the money automatically goes to schools. Winners in Tennessee and Florida must claim their winnings within 180 days of Wednesday night’s drawing.
State and local taxes can eat up nearly half the winnings for many lottery players around the country, but these three could be even more lucky if they live in Florida or Tennessee, which have no state income tax, or California, which exempts winnings from lottery tickets bought in-state. They would still owe federal taxes, topping out at 39.6 percent.

A winner from all those tickets was a 1 in 11,680 chance!
What does that mean her kids convinced her that she won? What’s to convince? Look at your ticket and see if you won
