As the Skverer Rebbe Shlita continues his visit in Eretz HaKodesh, the decision was made that the rebbe would visit the Me’oras HaMachpelah in Hebron despite security officials advising to the contrary.
The rebbe decided to travel to the holy site and he was transported in a bulletproof bus. The rebbe however requested to ride on the bus with chassidim and not in the vehicle that has been taking him around.
It appears the rebbe realized if he is transported in a car, some of his followers would travel by car and he preferred they all use the bulletproof buses so he led by example. As one might suspect, everyone then traveled by bus.
Prior to leaving the rebbe davened shachris in the Makor Chaim Beis Medrash in Yerushalayim that he inaugurated on Sunday.
Officials organizing the event report approximately 2,000 chassidim accompanied the rebbe, traveling in 43 bulletproof buses.
