Rav Chaim Kanievskey is a living testimony of the Rambam: “Every Jewish male is required to study Torah, whether poor or rich, healthy or in pain, young or very old and weak. Even a poor person who lives from charity and makes the rounds of homes [to collect for himself]… must establish fixed times for study” (Mishnah Torah, Hilchos Talmud Torah 1:8.
