IDF soldier Corporal Elad Sela, 26, of the Gush Etzion community of Bat Ayin was indicted in April 2015, suspected of leaking classified military information to right-wing activists in his area. He served in an intelligence position.
Following the trial, Sela was convicted on Tuesday 24 Teves and sentenced to 45 months imprisonment. The indictment stated he was passing classified information to extremists involved in price tag attacks against PA (Palestinian Authority) residents.
Sela is married and has two children and a part of the IDF Intelligence Corps program catering to the chareidi community. He served in the Etzion Base near his home community.
Honenu Attorney Adi Kedar criticized the verdict, saying because in his words, the initial suspicions to link Sela to any organization were refuted.
