Police Commissioner Roni Alsheich on Tuesday, 24 Teves, visited the home of Dizengoff pub terror attack victim Alon Bakal HY”D, the manager of the pub murdered in the shooting attack. During the shiva visit, the commissioner shared some details of the ongoing investigation with the bereaved family members.

Alsheich used the opportunity to release his first message to the Israeli public since assuming command of Israel Police. He referred to the investigation into the Dizengoff shooting attack on erev shabbos saying, “I can say that we can significantly lower the tension in the Dan region”, declining to detail his words in any way despite questions pertaining to the ongoing investigation and manhunt for the terrorist.

He did explain that everything is being done to apprehend the terrorist, and that police are working with the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet). He added elite units are involved in the ongoing manhunt but he does not lose sight of his responsibility to his troops and those of other agencies and the operation is being conducted appropriately, to prevent placing anyone at needless risk.

Alsheich explained to the tzibur that no stone is being left unturned as apprehending the terrorist is their highest priority.
