Jerusalem Chief Rabbi Aryeh Stern Shlita has met with the families of the suspects who were indicted in the Duma arson case. The rav was told of the torture methods used against their sons to extract confessions.
Rabbi Stern feels that at the very least, an independent body must probe the allegations being made by the families, based on the statements from their children regarding illegal methods of interrogation used in the case.
Rabbi Stern also met with some of the suspects who were jailed and ultimately released after learning they have no connection to the Duma arson. They provided him with a first-hand account of the torture used against them.
Following the meetings Rabbi Stern said “I am very concerned about the rumors the detainees in the Duma affairs were tortured. It is appropriate to conduct an independent probe to determine that everything that was done was within the framework of the law”.

How, in a ‘democracy’, can they detain anyone, and especially minors, who had absolutely NO involvement with the incident, with no legal representation, for THREE WHOLE WEEKS, torturing these young people without cause, and traumatizing them for life!!! When did the KGB come to Israel??? These things happened during the holocaust!! The Satmarer Rebbe was very far-sighted when he declared in 1948 that no good would come of the establishment of a ‘Jewish’ state. The irreligious Jews are worse that the lowest of the gentiles!
