VIDEO: 18 Vehicles Broken Into Over Shabbos In Monsey – Suspects Captured On Video

01[VIDEO IN EXTENDED ARTICLE]

Once again, burglars broke into multiple vehicle over Shabbos in the Monsey area of Rockland County. Rockland Chaieirm Coordinator Yossi Margareten told YWN that 18 vehicles were broken into over Shabbos. 16 were in the Monsey (Ramapo) area, and two were in Spring Valley.

Just two weeks ago, Police had arrested two suspects who were responsible for breaking into more than 25 vehicles.

In that incident, Rockland Chaveirim members had tracked a stolen phone from one of the vehicles, and pointed out the suspects to police who made the arrests.

Now, just two weeks later, the neighborhood once again had a rash of breakins.

Except this time, the burglars were captured on video at around 5:50AM, Shabbos morning.

Chaveirim told YWN that the Ramapo and Spring Valley Police Departments were working to apprehend the suspects.

In the attached photos, you can see detectives trying to get fingerprints of the suspects from some of the vehicles that were broken into.

The Ramapo Police Department says that in most of these incidents, the car had been left unlocked while parked overnight in a driveway. Items stolen were GPS’s, cash, coins, and other items of value which are left visible in an unlocked vehicle.

The Ramapo Police would like to remind all residents for a few crime prevention tips that may decrease the likelihood of theft:

– Always lock your car doors.
– Never leave valuables in your car.
– If possible, park your car in a well-lit area.

If you see anything suspicious, please call the Town of Ramapo Police immediately at 845-357-2400. Rockland Chaveirim can be reached at 845-371-6333.

  1. Ha, ha. Call Ramapo Police? What a joke. They and the Spring Velley police department don’t bother with criminals who are most often not apprehended and if by chance they do get apprehended, these criminals are out on the streets the next day doing their thing again.
