It appears there is fence-mending taking place in Degel Hatorah as MK Moshe Gafne arrived on Thursday, 19 Teves, and toured the city with Mayor Yaakov Gutterman. The two have been caught up in machlokes with one another for some time, to the extent Gafne challenged Gutterman’s appointment for deputy mayor in a beis din. In that case, Gafne emerged the winner.

During the official tour on Thursday, they visited a number of educational institutions. it is reported the officials visit was intended to show the tzibur that the machlokes is being put aside for the good of the party and all involved. Some of the mosdos included in the tour were at the heart of the dispute between the two.
