A Midgam poll of the public reveals that 61% of the population feels the Shabbos Law should apply in chareidi areas exclusively, not in non-religious areas while 35% of the tzibur disagrees. The poll was conducted last week, commissioned by the Knesset Channel.
In Jerusalem for example, 66% of respondents feel entertainment centers in non-frum area (like Cinema City) should operate on Shabbos while 30% feel that must not be permitted.
The poll shows that 67% of the tzibur feels stores in shopping centers should be permitted to remain open while 30% disagree.

It is a good sign that 61 percent believe that there should be a Shabbos law anywhere and the fact that one whole third of the country believes the Shabbos law should be universal is a great encouragement to the religious community and plainly shows the reversal of the trend of of secularism in Medinat Yisrael. Bimheira Byameinu, soon from Haifa to Eilat, all Jews will keep Shabbos.
There is an urgent need for more education and explanation about the beauty of Shabbos and the status of a Jewish State.
