MK Moshe Gafne spoke to Kol Chai Radio host Mordechai Lavi on Wednesday morning 11 Teves. He was asked to comment on a number of matters. Following is a portion of that interview.
Lavi:
Can you comment on the rally last night on Malchei Yisrael Street against the draft law?
Gafne:
I will not speak on the matter. What I will say is that while in the past, at times, I would be contacted by rabbonim in the Eida Chareidis to discuss a matter, in this case, there was no discussion and no one contacted me.
I was a member of the negotiating committee and I was directly involved in the draft law. Nevertheless, no one made an effort to learn the true details of the law. In my opinion, this has nothing to do with the draft law and the goal [of the rally]was predetermined, without any connection to the new draft law.
When asked to elaborate Gafne stated he would not.
Lavi:
Of late, Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid has been making a genuine effort to put differences behind with the chareidim and perhaps it is time to accept his gestures?
Gafne:
No. absolutely not. He is not genuine and he has an agenda, one that is not good for the chareidim. The Knesset is not the place for naiveté and one entering Knesset must leave naiveté behind, for this is not a wanted trait in our parliament. Lapid has not changed. He has a clear agenda and his actions have caused great pain and difficulties for the chareidim due to all his efforts during the last coalition. Only due to a miracle from HKBH were these gezeiros eliminated and B’chasdei Hashem we find ourselves where we are today.

Everything is Yad HASHEM BTW.
This rally was a political rally between the Eidah & against the Bnei Brak Rabbanim. To show support & strength for the new Bnei Torah political party rather than UTJ. That’s why Brisk Yeshiva attended & Mir not.
“Nevertheless, no one made an effort to learn the true details of the law”
Was the law made into a classified document ?
