Much has been written in recent days about the Jewish youths arrested under administrative orders by the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) on suspicion of involvement in the fatal Duma arson attack.
To date, government officials including Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon stated they do not have sufficient evidence against the suspects. Hence, they continue to remain incarcerated, for over three weeks, under administrative orders.
It is now clear the suspects are subjected to torture and severe deprivation of their most basic rights, including meeting with an attorney, putting on tefilin and lighting Chanukah candles.
Information leaked to the media on Monday morning 9 Teves documents that one suspect tried to take his own life R”L under the duress of sleep deprivation and physical torture by ISA interrogators. A second suspect reportedly asked for poison to end his life, unable to endure the daily torture. [see accompanying photo from the court transcript dated 16 December]
At 13:30 on Monday, attorney Itamar Ben-Givir, one of the attorneys trying to protect the rights of the detainees reported that the High Court of Justice promised to get back to him about an urgent request for a temporary injunction to order the ISA to stop the torture. That request was made over 24 hours prior to Ben-Givir’s early afternoon statement but still no response from the court. Ben-Givir added the court indicated a response would be forthcoming in a matter of hours.
He adds that Justices Fogelman, Mazuz and Barak-Erez heard his petition, an urgent request on behalf of the detainees, some minors, yet a response has still not been heard.

Does this suggest that the neturei kartels are right? From a halachic perspective, this is ossur! If you have no proof you still cannot force the Human! to “confess”. “confessions” is something foreign to our religion! That was used by the spanish at the time of the inquision! The people in the israeli govt are sooo anti torah that some are acting like the jewish peoples biggest enemy, even replicating the biggest anti semites!

it has been problematic for years that the left had a monopoly on using terms such as ‘democratic’ for their own purposes. But if it meant shutting up the right, well, that was obviously to them proper.
However, it seems that the government has overstepped its bounds by torturing these boys.
A thorough investigation is definitely called for.
