The Vaad Rabbonim for Education appointed by the Moetzas Gedolei Yisrael of both Degel Hatorah and Agudas Yisrael will not be attending a conference sponsored by the Chareidi Division of the Ministry of Education. The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 11 Teves, in Bnei Brak. The vaad has instructed rabbonim to boycott the event as well.
The vaad sent a letter to explaining that in adherence to instructions from Gedolei Yisrael Shlita, they are not to attend events organized by the Chareidi Division as therefore they will not be in attendance and ask others to follow their example. The letter was sent to Chinuch Atzmai, the Union of Seminaries, Union of Talmidei Torah, Beis Yaakov and other relevant organizations.
During recent months the vaad, acting on instructions from Gedolei Yisrael, has been fighting the Chareidi Division of the government ministry, accusing the ministry and this unit of trying to interfere in chareidi chinuch by appointing teachers and personnel against the will of rabbonim shlita.

What’s chareidi about the division if they don’t follow the gedolim
Who are the members of the Vaad Rabbonim for Education appointed by the Moetzas Gedolei Yisrael of both Degel Hatorah and Agudas Yisrael? Could YWN please let us know who sits on this Vaad.
They should boycott if their rabbonim and leaders tell them too. They should also not expect a dime of public funding if they won’t even meet with the governmental department which serves to direct resources to them. And then, they can explain to the funders they will go to in North America (who often enough wouldn’t be permitted to daven for the omud in their mosdos, but their donations are kosher enough), how they refused money from one of the most chareidi friendly governments in the past 25 years. That’ll go over well.
Is this the only solution to Chinuch in Israel? Boycott the meeting & ignore the Charedi Vaad..
Are their other solutions? Probably SHAS will find a way to attend & modify or circumvent educational needs.. When coming to collect $$$ inUSA for Israeli Chinuch… We will all be busy doing math/English & science homework with our Cheder & BY CHILDREN.
