Authorities have captured a prisoner who escaped from police custody in lower Manhattan.
The handcuffed prisoner kicked open the back door of a police cruiser and got away around 7:40 p.m. Thursday at West Broadway and Franklin Street.
Police say he was located in Brooklyn around 1:30 a.m. Friday. He was no longer wearing the handcuffs.
WABC says the suspect was found at a group home where he used to live.
The search caused temporary subway service disruptions.
The incident is one of several recent escapes from NYPD custody. Earlier this month, police recaptured a man who had escaped custody in Brooklyn on Oct. 20 while in handcuffs.
