Chief Rabbi Dovid Lau recently spoke out harshly, criticizing Minister of Diaspora Affairs Naftali Bennet for visiting a Solomon Schechter School, which is affiliated with the Conservative Movement, during his recent visit to New York.
In response, the Reform and Conservative Movements are firing back at the Chief Rabbi, praising Bennet in the media and his decision to visit the school despite the long-standing opposition from rabbonim in the Zionist camp over the years. They openly reject Rav Lau’s statements that the path of the Conservative and Reform Movements will lead to losing the next generation of Am Yisrael.
The principal of the school visited by Bennet published a column in The Forward directed at Rabbi Lau, in which he states the rabbi’s statements “Could not have been further from the truth”. He explains that despite Rabbi Lau’s statements to the contrary, the school is disseminating Judaism, citing Chanukah celebrations in the school as one example.
In response, officials in the Chief Rabbinate of Israel explain “The Chief Rabbi remains committed to the future of the Jewish People and will continue to operate without fear from movement that endanger the future of Am Yisrael”.

what nerve ,channaka! Weres is shmiras Shabbos, tahras hamispacha, believing every ois in torah min hashomayim (sanheddrin)…Hannaka they only hold because its in sync with x-mas so its good for the ego .
What a riot!
They probably also teach about goyish holidays too, so they’re disseminating other religions too
Yes, they celebrate Chanuka, but they agree with the Greeks on Bris Milah, Rosh Chodesh and Shabbos. Sadly, many members of their movements are not even Jewish with their intermarriage rate and patrilinial descent.
The Conservative and Deformed movement spread Judaism, true, but they spread it so thin like butter on bread.
mbachur and yaakov doe – let’s keep things in perspective. They do not teach other religions, nor do they agree with the Greeks about Bris Milah, Rosh Chodesh and Shabbos. However, they are extremely ignorant of Torah (including most of their “Rabbis”).
They desire recognition because that will strengthen their cause in their false believes. The fact is that their Rabbis are in constant fear of losing their jobs as their customer base is always dwindling. They, therefore, consistently make concession in order to boost their numbers to the point that probably more than half their members today are not Halachicly Jewish.
Furthermore, to my knowledge, there is no consistency among them as to what they believe in other than the belief that Orthodox Judiasm is behind the times.
