Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein told Kol Berama Radio “It is no secret that I am working to expand the coalition but unfortunately, to date I have not succeeded”, adding there are some prospects on the horizon.

Speaking to host Noam Zeigman, Edelstein explained on Wednesday morning 4 Teves that the current coalition is a narrow one and he has been working to expand it to provide additional stability.

Regarding the coalition, he added “there are some weeds”, explaining that while most coalition members are working hard, there are some who give the Knesset a bad name. He added that he plans to restore the prize for excellence for the best Member of Knesset, which was given in the past but lost over the years. He hopes this will motivate some lawmakers to improve their performance.

He feels that there is a lack of balance between what people outside Knesset hear and believe as opposed to what really takes place inside. He feels that all too often the bad news is made known while the good news and accomplishments are not recognized. Therefore, he has launched an awareness campaign to change this.
