A large drug ring that has been operating in Meah Shearim & Ramat Beit Shemesh has been infiltrated by an undercover religious agent. Dozens of arrests have been made, most for drug dealing. The arrests include members of the chareidi and dati leumi communities as well as Arabs. Charges include drug dealing, selling stolen cars, and arms dealing.
The case began when police received information about a drug operation that was based in Meah Shearim. A decision was made to infiltrate the operation with an undercover agent, a young man from a religious home who attended yeshiva in Yerushalayim. After determining the candidate was suited for the assignment, the decision was made to move forward. The undercover agent was discharged from the IDF and enrolled into the ranks of Israel Police to begin his new assignment.
It did not take the undercover agent too long to realize there is a Meah Shearim of the daytime and Meah Shearim of the nighttime hours. According to police, the agent revealed “There is a dark conscious behavior of the drug trade in kiosks and alleys of the neighborhood”.
The agent was successful in infiltrating the operation and began buying different drugs from a number of dealers. During his dealings he also bought a stolen car and weapons from two Arabs who work in Meah Shearim. The two are residents of PA (Palestinian Authority) areas near Hebron and are living and working inside Green Line Israel illegally.
After a number of months operating undercover in Meah Shearim, the agent was moved to the chareidi area of Ramat Beit Shemesh. The agent purchased dozens of kilograms of drugs worth NIS hundreds of thousands, two stolen vehicles, a Karl Gustav machinegun, a M-16 assault rifle and ammunition. The agent operated in the areas for a total of 18 months. He succeeded in taking down no less than 60 drug dealers, some involved in other serious crimes.
Beginning on Tuesday morning 3 Teves, uniformed police, detectives and border police arrested 45 suspects from Jerusalem, Ramat Beit Shemesh, the center of the country, and Yehuda & Shomron. Among the suspects taken into custody are two minors, ages 15 and 17. Police add additional arrests are expected.
Upon completion of his assignment last night, ahead of the raid, the agent was given his police ID and pistol, along with much praise and admiration for a job well done.

Beautiful article for a “frum” website. Unproven accusations of a disgruntled former frum person. I guess I know why I frequent other websites.
Kol Hakavod!
Many thanks to the undercover policeman!
No way must be mistake like the good boys caught in Japan
Job well done. Just taken too long.
It makes no difference what costume these criminals wear, they deserve to be rooted out and locked away.
It’s just a pity that people are afraid to cooperate with the police.
Well… it’s awful, but we can’t say it was unexpected. This is what happens when Jewish fathers do not show their children an example of מדות טובות, honesty, and יראת שמים. Maybe they forgot that זכות אבות only lasts so long (שבת נ”ה ע”א).
#5: In your zeal to knock the residents of Meah Shearim and Ramat Bet Shemesh by blaming kids who went bad on the parents, you probably forgot that plenty of kids from the best of homes also go bad, for a variety of reasons.
#1: You need to improve your reading comprehension. The undercover guy is frum, not formerly frum. In this kind of operation most of the people arrested have been video’ed or taped in the act or actually caught in the act so there is nothing “unproven”.
The big beneficiaries here are the vast majority of good and ehrlich residents of these neighborhoods, from which a dangerous blight has just been removed. Drug pushers are rodfim, plain and simple.
