Wine Thief Nabbed at Ben-Gurion Airport Before Boarding a Flight to the USA

2Israel Police received a report that a shopper in a duty free store at Ben-Gurion International Airport made off with a bottle of wine valued at $4,690. It appears that he placed a price label from a bottle selling for $38 over the legitimate one and paid for the bottle and left the store.

Airport police were notified and they apprehended the suspect shortly before he boarded for a flight to the United States. The suspect, a 48-year-old Haifa resident, was detained by police. He handed over the expensive bottle of wine without incident.
