Two thousand mispallalim visited Kever Yosef in Shechem (Nablus) on Sunday night to take part in the lighting of the Menorah for the eighth night of Chanukah. Among those in attendance was was Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto, who was accompanied by hundreds of his followers. Lighting the menorah was the IDF Yehuda and Shomron Division Commander Brigadier-General Lior Karmeli.
Also present was Rabbi Yisrael Abarjil, Shomron Regional Council head Yossi Dagan, Shomron Brigade Commander Colonel Shai Kelfer, Menashe Brigade Commander Zhezi Nechemia, Shomron Hagmar Officer Lt.-Colonel Miki Zivoni and a number of other lower ranking officers.
The Samaria Regional Council arranged the ceremony in conjunction with the IDF and security officials, as part of an ongoing effort to ensure the Tomb remains in Israeli hands.
