15:48: Police are working hard to reopen the area, a major thoroughfare in the capital feeding off the entrance from Highway 1 and in proximity of the central bus station. They need to shut down the fire hydrant and it is likely the road will then reopen for evening rush hour. The bus stop targeted by the terrorist is under the bridge, on Herzl Street, around the corner from Binyanei Ha’uma. Police have already given the order to place large concrete blocks at the area stops to prevent another vehicular attack in the future.
Thirteen victims were transported from the scene including eight to Shaare Zedek Hospital and five to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. Shaare Zedek Hospital officials’ report five of the victims are in light condition and three are listed as moderate, including an 18-month-old toddler.
B’chasdei Hashem the pedestrian who fired at the terrorist and killed him immediately realized what occurred and as soon as the vehicle stopped, hurled back somewhat from the impact of striking something which stopped it, perhaps the fire hydrant, firing at him, ending the attack.
Police found an axe inside the terrorist’s vehicle, which he presumably planned to use at the scene as well, mimicking the heinous attack on Malchei Yisrael Street in the Geula area of the capital.
The dead terrorist has been identified as a resident of Beit Haninah in the capital and he too, like many terrorists before him, had an Israeli identity card.
15:55: Officials in the Hadassah emergency room report five victims, ages 13, 18, 18, 37 and 43. All are listed in light condition.

While prayer is foremost, it is hard to understand why the government keeps barking up the same tree. New measures should be implemented. Construct housing for each attack. Don’t return the bodies of terrorists. Death penalty. Use the organs of terrorists to save Jewish lives.
