Opposition party MK Avigdor Lieberman, who heads the Yisrael Beitenu party, lashed out against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and members of the ruling coalition for allocating “NIS billions to the chareidim for bizarre things”.
Lieberman described his party as ‘right-wing and secular”, calling for the government to take definitive steps to halt the ongoing wave of Islamic terror attacks. He added that regarding matters of religion and state, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is too indebted to the chareidi parties, citing the recent Knesset vote to amend the draft law in line with demands from chareidi parties. He added “Just recently NIS billion have been allocated to the chareidim for bizarre things”
The former Foreign Minister stated his party would not enter such a coalition regardless of what cabinet portfolio is offered. He emphasized he believes his party is in the correct location and in the next elections, which he believes will be in 2016, his party will run independently.
He calls PM Netanyahu’s handling of the terror wave that began erev Rosh Hashanah 5776 “catastrophic”. He stressed that in order to halt the attacks, Israel must target the source, by its ideological roots. He feels Israel must hit the PA (Palestinian Authority) where it hurts, financially as well as addressing the ongoing incitement against Israel from within the PA for he feels at present, those responsible for the incitement have been given immunity by the Netanyahu administration.
He warned the terrorists in Gaza continue to build and test rockets as well as digging terror tunnels. He does feel that while Israel does not have to conquer Gaza, it is necessary to hit the terrorists hard, to compel a change in their daily lives and routines.
“Israel is the largest funder of Palestinian terror” he exclaimed, adding “Each terrorist family receives NIS 14,000 – NIS 15,000 monthly from Abu Mazen if a terrorist is killed, regardless of a terrorist’s political affiliation, and this money is given by Netanyahu and Israel. Hence, in essence, they are financing terrorism as the tax funds collected by Israel and given to the PA are used for terrorism.
He calls for cutting all ties with the PA to compel and defeat the terrorism for without do so, a political solution between Israel and the PA is impossible. Lieberman cites an example of the humane attitude of the West towards the wave of immigration from Syria and Iraq to Europe which has resulted in disastrous consequences for Europe.
