One might say this is a partial victory as the initiators of the Jerusalem Cinema City project explain that they have no interest at present to open their doors on Shabbos, however they reserve the right to entertain such a move in the future with the relevant state authorities and agencies.
Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Yossi Deutsch views the current situation as a victory for Kedushas Shabbos in the city and the Shabbos status quo. He feels it also reflects an awareness by management that most of the residents of the city would prefer seeing the complex remain closed on Shabbos.

Although few in the charadi community visit cinemas, it would be a good idea to patronize the mehadrin restaurants in the complex. The management should realize that just as there is a price to pay for being mechalel Shabbos, there is a premium to earn when observing it.
Those in the Mizrachi community who do frequent cinemas should adopt the same strategy towards the movie theaters.
