Agudath Israel of America welcomes the news that Jonathan Pollard is no longer in prison. His release is long overdue.
For three decades, Agudath Israel has been deeply involved in Mr. Pollard’s case – submitting an amicus brief urging fair treatment in the courts, advocating for the protection of his health and welfare in prison, and appealing to various Presidents for commutation of his life sentence.
Mr. Pollard has paid his debt to the American people. He is no longer the young man he was when he entered prison 30 years ago. We implore Attorney General Lynch to establish terms of release that will enable Mr. Pollard to live in peace and security and be a productive member of society, which can best be accomplished by granting his request to move to Israel.

Sunil,
It can take a while for your post to go up learn some patience
While lauding Pollard’s release on parole it would only be right for an organization like Agudah to stress that his crimes were inexcusable and that he should in no way be viewed as a hero by Orthodox Jewry.
