Rabbi Tzion Sa’adon was injured in a stabbing attack in Marseilles on Wednesday, 6 Kislev. It was reported that he was attacked by three persons, who are believed to be ISIS supporters.
B’chasdei Hashem he was released from the hospital on Thursday, the day after the attack. He spoke with Walla News and explains the following.
“I left my home at about 7:00 PM. Two people stopped me and asked how to get a street. They asked are you Jewish or Muslim. I told them I am Jewish and suddenly they knocked me to the ground and shouted anti-Semitic obscenities. He was wearing an ISIS shirt. They said ‘we are going to hurt you, kill you’ and one was videoing this with his cell phone. Suddenly a car approached and they were afraid and ran”.
Walla:
So this coincidence, the car coming actually saved your life.
Rav Sa’adon:
There are no coincidences for Jews but HKBH. He saved me, not a coincidence. I have minor cuts but Baruch Hashem I am okay.
As the interview continued Rav Sa’adon, who is employed as a teacher, explains the situation appears to be getting worse and there is fear among many in Marseilles. He feels the situation is going to get worse, confirming his attackers remain at large but adds police have identified them by video surveillance.
“Maybe now France understands what takes place in Israel” he adds later in the interview.
