A panel of New York state lawmakers is looking for ways to make voting easier.
Several election officials from New York City and the state are expected to join good-government watchdogs and advocates for the disabled at Wednesday’s legislative hearing in Albany.
The committee of lawmakers will review possible changes intended to encourage more citizens to cast ballots. Possible ideas include allowing early voting and more absentee ballots.
The committee’s findings and recommendations could yield proposals for legislative consideration.
The full Legislature is scheduled to convene for its 2016 session in January.
