It is no surprise that chareidi cities lead the country in the highest percentage of children in those cities. This statistics includes the Arab sector too.
According to a report from Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) released on Tuesday, 5 Kislev, the city with the highest percentage of children is Bnei Brak. In Bnei Brak an amazing 47% of the city’s population is newborn to 17-years-old.
In second place is Jerusalem with 40% followed by Ashdod with 32%, and in last place [among large cities/ over 100,000 people] are Tel Aviv and Bat Yam with 21%.
Leading the list of chareidi urban localities is Modi’in Illit with 64% followed by Betar Illit with 63%. In third place is Mevo Horon with 62%.
Among the large cities, in Bnei Brak and Jerusalem over half of the households have children (newborn-17) at home with Bnei Brak leading with 58% followed by Jerusalem with 52%. The lowest figures are found in Tel Aviv/Yaffo with 25%.
