Jerusalem business owners took to the streets on Monday morning, 4 Kislev as they called on Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon “not to forget Jerusalem”.
The business owners accuse the Finance Ministry of neglecting the capital, concerned with maintaining a balanced budget at the expense of Jerusalem.
Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, who took part in the protest, recently expressed harsh criticism against the treasury, which he accuses of treating Yerushalayim unfairly.
Treasury officials however did not go on the defense, but responded to the mayor’s accusations with their own accusations of mismanagement in the city. They explain the issue is not a lack of funding but proper management.
