Dear Friends and Fellow Community Members,
Last night, Paris experienced terror attacks on six separate locations resulting in numerous deaths and many more wounded.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the people of France and to those of French descent here in the United States, specifically New York City and Brooklyn. At this time, we can confirm there is no nexus whatsoever between the events in Paris and anything going on here in New York City.
Again, there are no credible threats to NYC at this time in connection to any terrorist attacks that have occurred outside of the United States.
We want to reassure you that all of our units are out in full force to make sure you are safe and that the city runs normally during this very sensitive time.
We remind you to report any suspicious or suspected terrorist activity to 888-NYC-SAFE (888-692-7233) and to call 911 for all other emergencies.
If you have any other concerns or just want to speak to a police officer, please feel free to call your local precinct and request to speak to a community affairs officer.
We stand united as we always do with our Brooklyn South community, especially our French community.
We are praying for you at this moment.
Thanks again for all of your support!
All the best,
Lieutenant Ira Jablonsky
Commanding Officer
