Chassidim of Rav Yeshayahu Pinto have announced they are beginning a hunger strike in protest of how the rabbi is being treated by the court as he battles a life-threatening illness.
Tens of chassidim affiliated with the Shuva Yisrael Kehilla on Tuesday afternoon 21 Cheshvan launched a hunger strike in protest of how the prosecution compelled the rav to leave his NYC hospital bed to fly back to Israel to attend court session despite leaders from senior physicians that this would further jeopardize the rabbi’s fragile state.
A protest tent has been set up in Ashdod and on Tuesday, chassidim davened mincha at the tent and then announced their hunger strike.

What’s the point of having a Hunger Strike, does anyone care or have liability for them?
Let’s strive for some clarity here. Did pinto tell them to starve or did these Chasidim take it upon themselves?

If you have read the charges against Pinto, you wouldn’t have any respect for this guy either. He is as scam artist not some great tzadik or talmid chacham who warrants respect.
