With the Crown Heights community on edge following the Tuesday night stabbing of a Hatzolah member, police are reaching out to calm the community.
As YWN published earlier, a Hatzolah member was stabbed in the back while walking on Eastern Parkway between Bedford Avenue and Rogers Avenue at around 8:25PM. The suspect is reportedly a black male and may have been wearing a mask. There is no known motive.
The office of NYPD Assistant Chief Steven Powers tells YWN that extra patrols have been added to the Crown Heights community, and detectives are following every lead possible. If anyone has any clues that can help in apprehending the perpetrator, please call 800-577-TIPS immediately.
Additionally, many high ranking NYPD Officials, elected officials as well as Jewish Community Leaders were at the hospital on Tuesday night. Among those showing his support was Brooklyn President Eric Adams.
