Election Day is rapidly approaching. It is the time for each of us to assess the candidates and decide how we are going to vote. Which one of the men and women running for office will do the best job for our families and our community? Which one of those seeking our support can we believe truly merits our votes?
In the race for Town of Ramapo Supervisor, the choice is clear. Only one of the candidates has a proven track record when it comes to fighting for our community. Only one of the candidates has championed our community’s interests and advocated for our families time and time again.
Ever since he arrived at Ramapo Town Hall fifteen years ago, Supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence has demonstrated a keen understanding of the various issues that face our community. There are some people in Ramapo who would want to inhibit the growth of our community. Supervisor St. Lawrence has fought diligently against those forces. And it is largely due to his dedication and resolve that our community has had the opportunity to flourish and grow into the thriving and vibrant community it currently is.
One of the individuals vying to unseat Supervisor St. Lawrence has been a vocal opponent of our community for more than a decade. Michael Parietti is one of the leaders of Preserve Ramapo, a group whose primary mission is to denigrate and demean our community. Mr. Parietti may say that he wants to represent all Ramapo families. But his actions and words over the past decade speak volumes about how he truly feels about our community.
Mr. Parietti’s vehement opposition to growth in our community is well-known. Together with Robert Rhodes, the Chairman of Preserve Ramapo, he is a perennial speaker at public hearings and meetings involving proposed yeshivos and shuls, where he voices his opposition to the growth of our mosdos with great pride. Mr. Parietti, it seems, never passes up an opportunity to speak out against our community and its Torah institutions. His attempts to curtail the growth in the frum community are appalling and deeply disturbing.
Michael Parietti’s entire campaign platform hinges upon fear-mongering and leveling baseless accusations. His candidacy is built upon his unbridled criticism of Supervisor St. Lawrence for his proven willingness to stand up and fight for our community. The contemptible antics of Michael Parietti and Robert Rhodes are no secret, and they wear their opposition to our community as a badge of honor on the campaign trail.
We cannot sit idly by and allow Mr. Parietti’s malicious rhetoric to resonate among Ramapo voters. On Tuesday, November 3, we must take a stand against Michael Parietti, Robert Rhodes, and Preserve Ramapo, and send a clear message that we will not tolerate their disparagement of our community and our needs. It is an imperative for those who have our community’s best interests at heart to unite at the polls to voice our collective opposition to Mr. Parietti and his Preserve Ramapo running mates.
This Election Day, it is critical that we have a solid showing at the polls and strongly support Supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence and his running mates, Councilman Samuel Baruch Tress and Councilwoman Brenda Logan-Charles. We need to show our gratitude to Supervisor St. Lawrence, Councilman Tress and Councilwoman Logan-Charles for their ongoing efforts on behalf of our community and all of Ramapo. We have a responsibility to do our part and help Supervisor St. Lawrence and his team achieve a clear and decisive victory on Election Day.
